We also help identify behavior problems and entrenched habits and work with you to modify them.

Who can see my personal information?

All information is confidential. If you would like us to be in contact with your physician, you will be required to sign a release form allowing us to review all medical reports and laboratory results.

I have high cholesterol and hypertension. Can you help me?

Yes. We pride ourselves in our weight loss programs, and our staff is highly educated in the treatment of most diseases that require dietary management. We will assist you in the treatment of diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, gastrointestinal disorders, food allergies, all areas of pediatrics, and other nutrition related medical concerns.

If my child is overweight, should I address it or hope he will just outgrow it?

Dealing with overweight children requires special care and knowledge. While obesity is a health threat, improper treatment may actually promote more intractable food issues later. We are experienced in the special physical and psychological needs of children. Our philosophy is to correct the behavior that is causing the accelerated weight gain and to allow most children to grow into their weight. If a weight loss program is required, a balanced meal plan with adequate variety and portion control can be designed to meet your child’s needs. The focus is on appropriate eating and behaviors, not on “dieting”.

My doctor says my blood sugar level is elevated. Can you help me?

Yes. Our Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists can help adjust your diet to decrease glucose levels. Our highly trained professionals can review your current dietary intake and medication routine. We will work directly with your physician to help make changes that promote control. Our individualized care is what makes managing diabetes successful.

I am training for a marathon. What nutritional supplements should I use?

Marathon training often requires individuals to alter their diet with regard to specific amounts of carbohydrates, protein, and fat. In addition to focusing on the timing of meals, Medical Nutrition Network can help plan a training diet and assess supplement use.

Does my insurance cover medical nutrition therapy?

Many insurance companies will cover medical related nutrition therapy with a physician’s recommendation (prescription). Some insurance companies may cover “wellness” or “preventive medicine.” You will want to contact your insurance company to determine your coverage or for preauthorization.
