Every Body is Different.
It is important to remember that every body is different. Your body weight, shape, size, and bone structure is influenced by your genetic and cultural traits. Your “ideal” body weight is a weight that allows you to function optimally, feel strong and energetic, and lets you lead a healthy way of life. For example, when your body is healthy and at its appropriate biological body weight, you can concentrate at school or work, you have the energy to perform or socialize, and can participate in regular physical activity. Although overweight can be associated with adverse medical conditions, body weight can still be healthy across a wide range of weights. Focus on eating well-balanced meals and snacks and enjoy regular physical activity to help you achieve and maintain your “ideal” body weight. Most importantly, resist comparing your body with your friends’ bodies or on social media or with the people you see in advertisements or on TV. Remember that ‘’comparison is the thief of joy”. Each of you is unique and has your own talents. What are your strengths? What do you like to do? What makes you different?
