You can have your cake and eat it too! Following a no sugar diet can rebound. Research studies show that no sugar diets can be unsustainable for most of us. Natural sugars found in fruits, vegetables, and dairy are not considered harmful while added sugars in processed foods and refined carbohydrates should be limited. The 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends limiting added sugars to no more than 10 percent of your daily calorie needs. So, for a more sustainable lifestyle approach, enjoy a small portion of sugar on the weekdays and give yourself permission to enjoy a larger serving of dessert on the weekends.
