Marissa Podell

Marissa is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from University of California, Davis, and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Northridge. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, affiliated with Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. She has served a diverse patient population during her work in the acute care setting across several Los Angeles area hospitals including Encino Hospital Medical Center, LAC+USC Medical Center and the VA West Los Angeles Medical Center.

Marissa holds specialty certificates of training in Vegetarian Nutrition and Adult Weight Management. Her areas of interest include plant-based (vegetarian/vegan) diets, weight management, renal disease, geriatric nutrition, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, food allergies/intolerance and digestive conditions. Marissa is enthusiastic about applying her passion and expertise in food and nutrition to support others in achieving optimal health. In her free time, Marissa enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, taking spin classes, hiking, reading and volunteering at her local animal shelter.
