Becoming a Competent Eater

Ellyn Satter, RD, discuses four strategies for becoming a competent eater.  These four steps include having a positive attitude toward eating and food, being flexible about food choices and be willing to try new foods, trusting your own internal regulators of hunger and fullness and trusting your body to know its biological appropriate weight, and to take feeding yourself seriously by planning ahead, preparing foods and eating on a regular schedule.  Check out Eating Competence for more detail.
